Are you a gamer? Gamers have to know the importance of every single bit of performance resource. There is an easy way to improve your RAM, which is by replacing it or duplicating it. There is one technique though without cashing out a single buck, the overclocking. Overclocking aof the computer or memory will make it work faster than its usual speed, but you have to be careful doing it. A processor having a rate of 2.4GHz can be overclocked up to 2.5 GHz or 2.6 GHz, while the memory that has a rate of 200MHz can be pushed to 220 Mega Hertz or even higher. This extra speed can facilitate more job being processed by the CPU and memory in a certain period of time therefore boosting the overall performance of your computer.

How to Adjust RAM and CPU Performance

Be warned though because basically when the PC hardware is forced above its limits, it would lock up, show many errors or might eventually crash. This could also create permanent damage to memory or the processor. The exception is if large voltages are utilized when doing an overclock. Since motherboards do not use extremely high voltages, it is not going to an issue. For some older processors, temperature is also a factor worth taking into consideration. Lates models of CPUs have thermal sensors that will shut off the computer or slow it down. The older ones do not have this kind of feature.

One big reason to overclock your computer system is to fit in some additional routine out of it at a small cost. Overclocking the memory and the processor can provide a significant boost to game performance, simple desktop jobs, and even benchmark scores. The ClockGen is a compact software which integrates overclocking of CPU, RAM and some components of the PC and aids to increase system performance. By using it, you can easily adjust the performance capability of your PC.

After you have selected PLL model, just click “Read Clocks”, they try to access the “PLL Control” display. You can see that the number of sliders depends on the features of the PLL model. After choosing your new clocks, click on “Apply Selection” to make them work. If you wish to return to the current values, just click “Reset Selection.” The “Clocks” window displays the present clocks in real time. It is not dependent from the selection window, so it would inform you if the new clocks were the ones applied. Take note that the processor clock may differ if the CPU utilizes a clock modulation mechanism, similar to C1E or Speedstep. If you want your CPU to perform at full speed, you better load your system.
